Doc. JUDr. Milos Deset, PhD. is associate professor at Trnava University, Faculty of Law, Department of Criminal Law and Criminology. During his doctoral study he focused on themes of the organized crime, the domestic violence and the economic crime. The title of the doctoral study was The Protection of Criminal Law Against the Organized Crime in Selective Economic Crimes.
In 2016 Deset published the scientific monograph focused on the evidence in the criminal procedure and the problem of the obtaining the relevant information for the criminal procedure by the tapping or using secrets agents in the conformity with the right to privacy. The aim of the monograph was research of current legal regulation of means of the obtaining of information important for the criminal proceedings. The thesis analyses relevant case law of Slovak Supreme Court and Slovak Constitutional Court. The Slovak case law is compare also with the case law of Czech Supreme Court and Czech Constitutional Court and European Court of Human Rights. The thesis analysis doctrinal interpretation of some terms, with the objective to identify some critical points and deficiencies of legal regulation and formulate solutions of these deficiencies.
In 2017 Deset passed the Habilitation in Criminal law at University of Trnava, Faculty of Law for academic title „docent“ with the theme of habilitation Perspectives of European Prosecutor in the Criminal Procedure.
Deset has completed scientific internship at Charles University, Faculty of Law, Prague, Czech Republic (2012), and at University of Tehran, Faculty of Law and Political Science, Teheran, Iran (2018).
He took a part in scientific projects as Procedural Guarantees in the Criminal Procedure in European Union, The International Criminal Law and Its Impact on the Legal System of Slovak Republic and The Review of Decisions in the Criminal Procedure in Slovak Republic. Currently, Deset takes a part in scientific projects Information-Technical Means and Means of Operative-Investigation Activity of the Obtaining the Relevant Information for the Criminal Procedure and The Use of the Criminal Law to Protect the Human Life and Health in Slovak Republic.
He participated in several scientific conferences, for example, “3rd Annual International Conference on Law and Policy AICLP 2016” in Oxford, “The Corporate Liability – Five Years Later” in Prague or “Trnava Law Days” in Trnava.
