Dr Ruzita Azmi obtained her LLB (Hons) from International Islamic University, Malaysia, Masters in Laws from University of Wales, Aberystwyth and PhD in Laws from University of Aberdeen, UK.
Dr Ruzita, an academic staff of University Utara Malaysia since 1997. Currently, she is working at University Utara Malaysia, Kuala Lumpur Campus. Her areas of specialization include company, business and insolvency law. She has been lecturing on company and business law since 1997 and currently her areas of interest include bankruptcy law and corporate social responsibility. Through the research grant from University Utara Malaysia, she has completed two projects: Corporate Crime under Malaysian Companies Act 1965 and An Analysis of Theories, Objectives and Principles of Corporate Insolvency Law. Through the Fundamental Research Grant Scheme (FRGS) from Malaysian Ministry of Higher Education, Dr Ruzita and co-researcher Dr Adilah completed two research entitled ‘Remodelling Corporate Crime: In Search of Corporate Culpability‘ and ‘An Assessment of Bankruptcy Law Using A Comparative Approach.’ She has written a number of papers published in Commonwealth Law Bulletin, Journal of International Corporate Rescue and PERTANIKA.
